Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia is the regulatory and supervisory body for the area of civil aviation. The principal working priority is the provision of conditions necessary for a safe and secure air transport in accodance with market principles. The activities of Civil Aviation Directorate are based on legal acts, ratified international conventions and agreements and international standards.

Competences |
In accordance with the Air Transport Law, Civil Aviation Directorate performs the activities concerning the air transport safety and security, air space management, regulation and enforcement of technical and economic requirements, inspection, search and rescue, aircraft accident and incident investigation. |

Regulatory activities |
The regulatory activities comprise economic regulation, aviation safety and security, the harmonization of regulations and standards with the international aviation regulations and EU regulations, air traffic accuracy and regularity, aircraft, aerodromes, airlines, air traffic management, aviation inspection and oversight. |

Administrative activities |
Administrative and expert activities refer to the issuance of licences for aviation organizations, aviation personnel and the respective training organizations. These activities include the issuance of approvals, compliances and certificates for the planning, design and building of aerodromes and other aviation facilities. |

Oversight activities |
The oversight activities comprise the control of the enforcement of laws, bylaws and standards, namely inspection. The verification of the fulfillment of requirements for the purpose of certifying air carrier is also comprised, as well as the quality system application. |

Offence procedures |
Commission for the Unlawful Acts in Civil Aviation prosecutes civil aviation infringement in the first instance in accordance with the Air Transport Law. The Commission’s task is to establish the facts and circumstances under which an accident occurred and to propose the measures for the prevention of new accidents and incidents. |
